Ignorance is no excuse: GDC puts its code of conduct front and center during show
The Game Developers Conference has had a code of conduct for the past two years, but the rules are now placed front and center as you walk into the show, and they are clearly laid out for everyone walking past.
The issue of harassment in gaming has been discussed extensively in the past few months, with developers still threatened with violence for attending events. The more prominent placement of the code of conduct serves as a welcome reminder of what sort of behavior is expected at a professional event.
“One of our board members saw it at NY Comic-con and thought it was a great idea,” GDC GM Meggan Scavio told reporter Laura Sydell vita Twitter.
Want to be a dirtbag at GDC? You can no longer claim ignorance of the rules.
